As experiences, research and study continues along my journey of life and health, I am offering here a summary of anything I have to add to or change to the information in the second edition of my book. This could be new experiences, advances in research or anything like that!
I was hoping to do something similar with my first edition but by the time I thought of it there were already too many updates, so that is when I decided to bring out a new edition instead (especially as I had also ran out of copies), as some sections needed to be completely re-written!
When I add an update on here I will share it to my Facebook page. I will also add it to my newsletters to subscribers to this website, though these newsletters are pretty sporadic at the moment!
Some products I mention in the Candida plan are now difficult to get hold of at a reasonable price (we imported them to sell at Shop Holistic but Trading Standards have now prevented this). As I have had an increasing number of kinesiology clients requiring a candida plan, I have revised the plan according to the most effective products that are more easily available, and much more reasonably priced! The following recommendations for supplements are those consistently testing positive for candida clients using kinesiology, and I have used this protocol successfully myself too.
The Self-Help Candida Booklet is based upon the Candida chapter in my book, and as of October 2018, I have updated it with the new protocol, and new information. I have summarised the basic protocol below, but please download the booklet HERE for more up-to-date and thorough information.
Basically the diet and all other info stays the same. Though I would add that some candida (there are different forms) feed better off fruit, and some off grains. So either muscle test (see the “how to” on here) to see which option is most beneficial for you, or try one and if nothing improves try the other. A combination of the 2 can work (must be full days such as grains in the week and fruit weekend or similar), but again see what works for you, some will be trial and error.
I recommend the following supplements:
Zell Oxygen Plus (kills candida, replenishes essential nutrients, feeds good bacteria, oxygenates cells, gives energy and build immunity) – take 30ml in water every morning for the first 2 weeks, then drop to 15ml for a miminum of 8 weeks (1 bottle lasts 8 days at full dose and just over a fortnight at half/maintenance dose)
Digestive enzymes (not essential – only if there are food intolerances) – Similase by Nutri Advanced, 1-2 with each meal
Probiotics – Probiotix 5 Live by Nutri Advanced (these can be left until after the first month, due to the action of the Zell, but there is benefit in replenishing sooner if you wish)
Diatomaceous Earth – take 1tablespoon in water at bedtime
Magnesium Chloride Baths – important to replenish magnesium as there will be depletion due to the stress your body will temporarily be in from change/die-off/etc. 2-3 baths per week using 500-750g flakes per bath, soak for 20 minutes. Or if you shower, make or buy magnesium oil – use daily complimented by footbaths with 250g mag flakes every other night (or footbaths nightly, and oil every other).
The Zell will replenish your nutrient levels and often these 4 are all that a client will need along with the diet. So no other supplements/remedies are usually required. The Vitamin C mentioned can be added at mealtimes, if you are experiencing die-off (fluey symptoms, headaches, worsening of symptoms).
UPDATE AUGUST 2018 – after struggling with keto for the past 6 months, I found out from the recent thermography scan that my hormones (mainly oestrogen/progesterone) are imbalanced. I believe I have entered peri-menopause. I have thrived much better off keto, now on an 80% plant based diet high in phytoestrogens but eating a wide variety of foods (still sugar/wheat free!). I am also fermenting (not personally!), making kombucha, water kefir, milk kefir, sourdough spelt bread and sauerkraut which I have 2 portions daily.
UPDATE 1/8/17 – An update on my journey using this diet. I ended the chapter explaining that I was still seeking the best formula of the diet with regards to carb loading, how often and how much. Well it appears that what is working best for me at the moment is something along the lines of 2 weeks on and a few days off. More than 2 weeks things seem to slow down and my feet begin itching, candida symptoms seems to increase. More recently I had about a week off for my daughter’s wedding and then getting back into things, and now back on and I have lost 5lbs in 2 days and feel detox symptoms. Due to the wedding and other things going on, I have experienced adrenal fatigue and began taking Nutri Advanced Adrenomax for support which also balanced my thyroid. This may have clouded the effects of the ketogenic diet in some way, however it is life that we will need addition support now and again for rebalancing and stressful times no matter how good our diet is as that is not the only issue in our balancing processes! I also began high potency Betaine with Pepsin (Nutri Advanced Metagest) every time I consume protein which is helping immensely. I have also found increasing protein a little has helped especially with the digestive support, maybe due to excess protein being converted to glucose which keeps the gut bacteria happy? Who knows, but it appears I am moving closer towards my own natural balance. Everyone is different and the Keto diet explained in my book should be regarded as a starting point until you are confidently in ketosis and stay there with slight slip-ups. Then your natural tweaking like this can begin!
If you would like to purchase the Nutri Advanced products I mention please contact me for advice. These are practitioner-supply products so I can quickly assess your potential for needing them along with any contraindications and give you my practitioner number for ordering them. We sell a good range that consistently test positive on my clients at ShopHolistic.com
UPDATE: August 2018 – At my check up scan, I was graded highest risk in my left breast! Old activity still inactive, lymphs now stated as clear. This is a new area, which the reporting doctor says is consistent with oestrogen imbalance, but also an area with evidence of angiogenesis. Logically, there is no lump to feel, and this is new activity that has arisen in the past 9 months, so this is likely a very early indication of something that is ‘brewing’, bearing in mind that thermography shows activity 6-8 years before a lump can be detected! I say logcially, as this time my emotions had really got the better of me the journey – it has been hugely emotional, with anxiety and panic, most of which have now been cleared using kinesiology tapping techniques, gong/sound baths, and twice daily meditations (mainly by Joe Dispenza – Changing Beliefs and Perceptions). I am taking a 3:1 CBD to THC ratio of cannabis oil, and have ditched the keto diet as it was just not working properly, and kinesiology testing confirmed it was not the best option for me. So I am balancing my hormones with D.I.M. (by Nutri Advanced – aka Diindolylmethane) and bio-identical progeterone cream, and eating an 80% plant based diet high in phytoestrogens. My check-up scan is 12th November, so I will update when I receive my results.
UPDATE November 2017 – I had another thermography scan as the lump appeared to have come back. I was worried that all the stress I had been under the past few months from unwanted media attention and Trading Standards victimisation, that the cancer had returned. The images showed the lump as inactive and all surrounding activity further reduced since last time. I am therefore still in the ‘low risk’ category!
UPDATE 30/4/17 – I have had another thermography scan. I am still placed in the ‘low risk’ category and all surrounding activity to the inactive tumours appears to have greatly reduced.
AUGUST 2018 – after receiving my thermography results showing increased oestrogen activity, I tested my hormones. It showed that I had mis-matched to progesterone, so that is now corrected.
SEPTEMBER 2017 – I recently have been having magnesium deficiency symptoms which were increasing to the point where I had a ganglion cyst on my wrist and calcific tendonitis in my shoulder (very painful!). I discovered through kinesiology testing that I had mis-matched to magnesium and therefore my body was not utilising the magnesium I had been receiving in the bath (and may not even have been absorbing it!) – the energy mis-match is detailed in the Allergy Reversal chapter in the Addendum. After correction of the mis-match, literally both problems disappeared within a week! So the advice I would give regarding this, if you are taking a remedy or a supplement (magnesium or otherwise), and it is not working, it would be worth testing for a mis-match (you will need to find a kinesiologist who is trained in this practice). I will be including this testing much more extensively in my practice.
